Description:

This is a very fine example of a broomhandle Mauser 1920 Police Rework pistol. The pistol is typical of those reworked in 1920 during the Weimar period, to conform to the Versailles treaty. The right side of the pistol receiver is marked: "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER / OBERNDORF A NECKAR.". The top of the barrel chamber is marked: "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORF A/N". The upper left side of the receiver below the serial number is stamped with a 1920 rework date stamp and the barrel has been correctly shortened to 4 inches and the rear sight has been completely milled off. The pistol has the arsenal refinished rust blued finish on all the metal parts overall. The front grip strap is marked S.G.V. 1 The grips have the large "9" filled with red paint burned into both sides. It is complete with an unmarked black leather holster.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as reworked, with 90% of the refurbished blued finish overall with wear on the edges and high spots, the frame rails, the sides of the barrel with some thinning on the sides of the frame in the magazine box area. The grips are also in very good condition overall with a dark color on both sides. The holster is in good condition showing some flattening and wrinkling of the leather overall with tight stitching.
