Manufactured from 1913 to 1921with a total production of 8,350, this was Smith & Wesson's first attempt of a semi-automatic pistol. There are two safety devices on the pistol, a revolving cam on the backstrap and a grip safety on the front strap. The top of the frame is marked with the three line address/patent dates flanked by Maltese crosses, the left side of the barrel is marked "35 S&W AUTO CTG.", the left rear of the frame is marked with the S&W Trademark logo and the serial number appears on the front strap. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, seven round detachable magazine and fitted with smooth walnut grips with inlaid S&W medallions. Complete with the original box numbered to the gun, with correct end label and directions sheet affixed to the inside of the lid.

Excellent. The pistol retains 99% original finish with some minor wear on the sides of the barrel on and near the muzzle. There is some very light scattered spotting and some high edge wear. The grips are very good with at least 75% original finish remaining and a few scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The mechanics are excellent. The box is good with a split in the bottom and some minor edge wear.
