Description:

This is a scarce factory engraved Marlin No. 32 Standard 1875 Pocket Revolver with standard nickel-plated finish and two-piece factory mother of pearl bird's head grips. This revolver is one of approximately 19,500 1875 Pocket Revolvers made from 1853-1887. The top of the barrel is marked "No 32 STANDARD 1875". The left side of the barrel is marked "J.M. MARLIN NEW HAVEN CT U.S.A. PAT JULY 1,1873". The matching serial number, "927" is stamped on the left side of the frame beneath the grip, on the rear face of the cylinder and in the inside of the barrel lug. The sides of the barrel and in the rib flute have a simple zigzagging pattern, repeated on the cylinder, the sides of the frame above and below the cylinder have a scallop design, the sides of the frame have a broad leaf scroll pattern with a matte background, the top strap has a fine scroll pattern and the backstrap has a burst design at the top and zigzag border on the upper half. Brass frame, nickel finish with casehardened hammer and trigger and fitted with smooth two piece factory mother of pearl grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 80% original nickel finish with most of the wear present on the barrel. The exposed areas on the metal have a smooth gray patina and any exposed brass has an aged patina. There are a number of scratches on the front half of the cylinder. The hammer and trigger have a dark and silvered out patina. The grips are excellent with a few light scuffs and handling marks. The markings and engraving remain clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
