Pinned front and notch rear sights, all nickel finish with casehardened hammer and trigger, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with patent date marking on the lower left panel and the S&W logo at the top. Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original nickel finish with scattered speckled flaking on the frame and light scratches overall. Virtually all of the bright original case colors remain on the hammer. The grips are excellent also with only light handling marks and crisp checkering. Sharp markings. Excellent mechanically. The box is good with one end flap on the lid absent and some edge and corner wear.

Class: Antique
Description:

Manufactured from 1883 to 1909. Features a pinned half-moon front and notch rear sights, top break action and oval trigger guard. All nickel finish with casehardened trigger and hammer, and blue trigger guard and barrel latch. Fitted with black checkered hard rubber grips with "S&W" logo at the tops and patent marking on the lower left panel. Standard two line address/patent dates marked on top of the barrel rib. Matching serial number marked on the butt, rear cylinder face, barrel and on the barrel latch. Complete in a maroon hinged lid box with correct end label and "Directions For Use" label on the inside of the lid.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original nickel finish with scattered minor flaking and scattered minor scratches. The backstrap is worn in a small area on the butt base. The trigger guard retains 50% original bright blue finish with the balance a smooth dark patina. The hammer and trigger retain almost all of the original case colors, slightly faded in areas, otherwise bright. The grips are excellent with a few minor dings and scuffs, and crisp checkering. The action needs some work, the hammer doesn't hold a cock position, otherwise double action functions properly. The box is good with a broken corner on the lid, some minor wear and most of the end label remaining.
