Manufactured in 1977, in the transitional period before the 3rd Generation had the "SA" suffix replaced with the signature prefix. All of the standard markings are present, with the addition of high quality factory Class "B" engraving, with fine scrollwork on the barrel, frame, cylinder, backstrap, outer edge of the ejector housing, toe of the front strap and the trigger guard. The top of the ejector housing has a wavy line and scallop design. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the left side of the front and back straps under the grip. The front strap under the grip is also marked "COLT ENG". Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, unfluted cylinder and fitted with two piece ivory grips with scroll carving with a punch dot background. Complete in a Custom Shop leatherette case with gold embossed lettering, gold lining and hanging tag.
