Front sight dovetail slot and notch rear sight on the "M. FRANZINI" marked ribbed barrel, with scroll engraving at the breech, a grotesque face ahead of the tang, and a set of four engraved brass barrel bands. Some engraving is visible on the lock, with a serrated frizzen face. Metal stock, with ramrod, light engraving, enameled brass disc accents, a brass panel ahead of the lock and a set of engraved brass plates running down the sides of the wrist and buttstock to the slightly flared buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The steel shows a mixed brown patina, with a crack in one of the barrel bands, a fine aged patina on the brass, and mild handling marks and pitting overall. The trigger guard is coming loose at the rear, and the forearm is bending away from the barrel near the front. Mechanically excellent.
