Description:

No visible markings. Consignor notes: Jerry Gutchess has owned this gun for 21 years. Jerry stated Paul L. Shumaker (author of "Colt's Variations of the Old Model Pocket Pistol 1848 to 1872) inspected the gun several times and believes it is definitely Colt 1862 Pocket of Navy Caliber. It was probably removed from the factory piece at a time. The frame and grip size for the pocket Navy was adapted from the Model 1849, the grips measure and fit as a Colt, however the barrel length is 5 13/16" and should be 5 1/2". All other parts are the correct size. Several other well known Colt collectors have agreed with Shumaker." Provenance: The Jerry Gutchess Collection; Property of a Gentleman

Rating Definition:

Good overall with slight traces of applied finish visible in protected areas, otherwise an artificial brown-gray patina, some pitting, artificially aged brass. Mechanically fine.
