The Sporting Magazine, comprising Vols 1 (1873), 2 (1793), 3 (1794), 39 (1812), 40 (1812), 43 (1814), 44 (1814), 45 (1815), 46 (1815), 97 (1841), 98 (1841), 99 (1842), 100 (1842), 1 in the third series (Jan.-June 1843), 2 in the third series (July-Dec. 1843). "The Sporting Magazine" was the first periodical devoted to sports.
