Manufactured by H. E. Leman's factory in Lancaster, PA, c. mid-19th century with the "CONESTOGA/RIFLE WORKS" marking used on some of their "trade quality" guns. "IO" marked muzzle and an "X" shaped stamp on the tail of the left stock flat.

Fine with gray and brown patina, traces of original case colors on the lock, dark aged patina on the brass, most of the dark finish remaining on the stock, loss from adhesive on the left near the muzzle, and fairly light overall wear for a Leman rifle. These rifles were widely used in the Old West.
