Bore Condition: The bore is darkened with pitting and defined rifling.
Description:

Starr Arms Co. manufactured approximately 20,601 of these percussion carbines between 1862-1865 during the Civil War, according to "Flayderman's Guide" (9th Edition, 9B-098). Inspection initials "L.A.B" on the left breech area of the barrel, a faint bordered script cartouche on the left of the stock wrist, and carved period initials "TR" on the right of the buttstock.

Rating Definition:

Good with some original blue finish on the barrel, smooth gray patina and scattered freckling/pitting on the balance. Wood is also good as sanded and re-oiled, with numerous scattered dents, scratches, and a few cracks and chips. Mechanically fine.
