Receiver manufactured c. early 1944, from the only production block (serial number range 1,982,520 to 2,352,519) manufactured by Standard Products Co. from April 1943 to May 1944. The serial number "2155966" is re-added to the receiver ahead of the rear sight, with a "12-43" dated Underwood supplied barrel, "D" marked type III barrel band, "N" marked front sight, "J.A.O." stamped adjustable peep rear sight, circled Underwood "U" type III operating rod, "U" parkerized flat-top bolt, along with a "N/16" marked milled trigger housing with a type V magazine release, "J.A.O." rotary safety. Fitted with a "L-J" marked four-rivet walnut handguard, a walnut "low-wood" stock marked with boxed "RMC" (Rock-Ola Mfg. Corp.) and "ordnance wheel" stamps on the right of the butt, "15" over a "RA-P" (U.S. Raritan Arsenal) rebuild stamp on the underside of the grip, and painted rack number on the left side, along with a "MADE IN/U.S.A." marked aftermarket magazine. Includes an Underwood "U" marked M1 recoil check attachment. Very fine as arsenal refurbished, retaining most of the finish with some scattered minor edge wear, scattered minor specs of spotting/freckling, light cycling wear, dried grease, and minor handling marks. The stock is fine as sanded, re-oiled, and painted with numerous scattered minor handling marks, worn paint on the left of the butt, and crisp stamps. Mechanically excellent.
