Manufactured in the second half of the 19th century, front sight absent, rear sight dovetail empty, and "C.B." initial plaque inlaid on barrel. The barrel is numbered to the gun and marked "ST" and "ES" under the forearm and "50 CTG'L" ahead of the forearm.

Fair overall showing all the character of a "frontier issued" buffalo rifle with mixed patina, lower tang screw absent, stock with a couple hairline cracks. Action cycles but needs work (likely weak hammer spring).
