Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and has distinct oxidation.
Description:

"J. CRAIG" and "PITTSBURGH" marked on the lock and the barrel. Fitted with a long brass tube sight, false muzzle, and a bullet starter. Joseph Craig built high end target rifles in Pittsburgh in the 1850s. Some of his rifles were likely used by Union sharpshooters during the Civil War.

Rating Definition:

Fine with some original finish mixed with gray and brown patina, empty sight dovetails, mild oxidation, aged patina on the brass, and mild overall wear. The refinished stock is fair with some cracks and repairs. Mechanically fine.
