Lock is marked "TRYON/U.S." and "PHILADA/PA/1844". The left side of the breech and top of the buttplate are stamped "57", and the left stock flat bears a cartouche.

Very good with a dark brown patina, some erosion at the breech, mild pitting and wear. The barrel has been bored smooth and turned to accept a bayonet. The re-oiled stock has been lightly repaired behind the breech and minor chipping throughout. Mechanically functions.
