Description:

On page 207 of "The Ames Sword Company 1829-1935" by Hamilton, the author indicates that the company delivered 1,039 of these experimental swords as part of a 20,000 sword contract signed in 1904. The rest of the swords were the Model 1860 pattern. Marked "US" and "A.S.Co./[ordnance bomb]/1906."

Rating Definition:

Good with the blade having mostly a bright appearance and light pitting, hilt retains traces of original blue finish, the leather wrap on scabbard has tight stitching.
