A pair of unidentified (maker) diminutive, .40 caliber, smooth-bore, European pocket, box-lock, percussion pistols, 14 1/2 inch overall length, fitted with twist-off barrels, folding trigger, sliding safety and checkered European walnut grips. The metal parts are finished bright and the sides of the box locks are decorated with engravings of songbirds. The bag shaped grips are carved in a raised floral pattern at the junction with the receiver.

Fine, with a smooth gray patina overall. The nipples are blued and generally free from flash pitting. Grips are fine with light to moderate handling. The engraving is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
