This pair of matching flintlock pistols feature engraved frame with a patriotic motif and a feather design border. The top of the upper jaw, trigger and hammer safety have a long burst design and the frizzen is engraved with a father design border. The right side of the breech plug is marked "D EGG / LONDON" and there are two crown over scepter proofmarks on the bottom of the breech plug. The pistol is fitted with a one piece walnut grip with silver wire and floral inlays. Complete in a wooden case with a brass handle on the lid and green felt lining with a Egg label affixed to the inside of the lid. In the case are a bullet mold, powder flask, barrel wrench, wooden handled screwdriver, approximately 10 extra flints and a key.

Fine. The metal surfaces have a smooth mottled silver gray patina. The grip is excellent with only the slightest handling marks and all of the silver inlay intact. The markings and engraving remain crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The case is very good with a few cracks along the bottom and some minor dings and scratches. The lining is very good, the two compartment lids are a bit lighter and have possibly been redone. The accessories are all very good.
