A) Engraved German Target Pistol with Argentina Retailer Marking

Description:

Two identically engraved Argentinean retailer marked German percussion target pistols with a case. The pistol has a blade front sight with bead on a solid matte barrel rib stamped with an Argentinean retailer marking: "A. VOELKER, BUENOS AIRES. SAN MARTIN 379". "CROWN" over "B" as well as the serial number is present on the water table. The upper tang has a fixed notch rear sight with provisions for a sight mount. The engraved casehardened action and barrel release lever feature fine engraved scrollwork with a zigzag line border. The border engraving with additional light scrollwork extends to the casehardened trigger guard and hammer. Tip up action with adjustable trigger. The stock has fine checkering on the Schnabel forearm and grip area and fitted with a scroll and border engraved casehardened ornate buttcap. The forearm has a single wedge with casehardened escutcheons. In a leather bound locking case with brass corner protectors and initial plate marked "J.V.G." on the lid. The case is lined with green felt and holds the second pistol and two cleaning rods.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The barrel retains 97% plus original blue finish with some minor thinning at the muzzle and some minor spotting. The action and trigger guard retain 98% original vivid case colors with some light spotting. The wood is also excellent with some minor scratches and dings. The checkering is crisp. The case is fine with some minor stains and handling marks on the leather with the interior showing some minor wear.

Excellent. The barrel retains 97% original blue finish with some minor spotting. The action and trigger guard retain 97% original vivid case colors showing some fading to a silver-gray with some light spotting. The wood is excellent with some minor dings and scratches with a few minor nicks in the overall crisp checkering.
