Brass blade sight on the front barrel band, with a bayonet lug on top of the muzzle and "P/V" on the left side of the breech. The lock is marked "SPRINGFIELD" in an arc behind the hammer and "eagle/ US" below the fenced flash pan. Smooth straight grip stock with 3 barrel bands, button head ramrod, sling swivels bases and a flat buttplate.

Fair as shortened and cleaned, with scattered pitting and a mixed gray patina on the steel. Cracks, chips and dents are visible on the sanded stock, along with mild scratches. Lock plate is slightly loose, otherwise mechanically very fine.
