Blade and fixed notch sights, properly offset to the left, with the breech marked "J.H. HALL/ H. FERRY/ US/ 1838" perpendicular to the bore. The breech catch is the proper "trigger" design, with the extended pistol grip trigger guard. Smooth straight grip stock with button head ramrod, sling swivels, three barrel bands and smooth flat buttplate. With a scarce triangular spike bayonet, 15 1/2" long.

Excellent plus, with 98% of the original brown lacquer finish, showing a few areas of bright gray wear and scattered light scratches. Stock is also excellent, with pressure dents and a few small chips. Mechanically excellent. Definitely unissued!
