Manufactured circa 1817 to 1820. The lock plate has the later type marking: "NORTH (in a downward curve) over an American eagle motif with "U" and "S" at either side over "MIDLtn CONN." The lock plate is beveled at the front and slightly rounded at the rear, with a brass flash pan without fence that tilts upward to the rear. Casehardened lock plate, with all other iron parts finished brown. The left side of the barrel at the breech is marked "P / US" and the letter "J". Brass blade front sight on forward strap of the double barrel band. The stock has a faint cartouche on the left stock flat. Complete with a wooden ramrod with a swelled tip. Included with the lot is a custom wooden display stand with brass tag.

Fair. The metal surfaces have been cleaned, showing even minor pitting with the lock plate marking remaining clear. The refinished stock has some filled repairs on the grip area with some minor handling marks overall and a minor crack near the side plate.
