Description:

This Model 7A revolver was manufactured in 1868 with the scarce 4 1/2" barrel. This was the only solid frame revolver Colt built. The top of the barrel is marked "ADDRESS COL. COLT / NEW-YORK U.S.A." and the cylinder is roll engraved with the stagecoach holdup scene. The cylinder is equipped with the screw that holds the cylinder pin. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel, cylinder and on the butt. Fitted with smooth one piece varnished walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel and frame retain 50% original blue finish overall with a smooth mottled gray patina on the hammer. There are traces of blue mixed with a smooth brown patina on the cylinder and back strap. The grip has been revarnished and remains fine with some lower edge wear and a few minor dings and dents. Some of the cylinder scene is beginning to fade otherwise it and the barrel marking are clear. The action is excellent.
