Manufactured in 1866. One line New York barrel address flanked by dashes. Pair of British proofs on the barrel lug, with the proofs alternating between the cylinder chambers. No visible naval scene or serial number on the cylinder. "COLTS / PATENT" on the frame, "36 CAL" on the left side of the trigger guard. Matching full serial number with the letter "L" (indicating revolver was designated for sale in England) on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and backstrap, with the wedge and loading lever unmarked. There is a faint English Enfield armory cartouche stamped on the left side of the smooth one piece grip.

Rating Definition:

Good. The barrel and cylinder have a smooth gray patina, with the partially refinished cylinder having been cleaned and lightly machined during the period of use with at least one of the stop notches welded and re-cut with no approach re-cut. The loading lever and frame retain scattered traces of darkened case colors with the balance a smooth brown-gray patina. Cylinder has a couple small spots of pitting. Overall there is some scattered mild pitting. The brass has an even aged patina. The slightly undersized grip is good with a few missing minor chips and some minor dings and scratches.
