Description:

Manufactured in the late 1850s and early 1860s. Standard "STARR. ARMS. Co. NEW. YORK." address on left side of frame, "STARRS PATENT JAN. 15, 1856." on the right. Blade front and hammer notch rear sights, with the standard quick-release thumbscrew on the frame and double action trigger with moving block. Matching numbers on the barrel lug, frame, hammer and cylinder, with "H" and "S" inspection marks and a set of legible cartouches on the right side of grip, one on the left.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 40% of the faded original blue finish, strongest on the frame and in the protected areas of the cylinder, with a brown patina on the balance, bright wear on the high edges, and scattered dings and dents. Grips are fine, with the exception of two small holes in the left side and some mild scuffs. Mechanically fine.
