Manufactured in 1913 and subsequently engraved with gold and silver inlays. Blade front and buckhorn rear sights on a barrel marked with the two line address/patent date marking with "357-MAG" in a panel at the breech on the upper left flat. There is a band of leaf and a punch dot engraving at the muzzle which is accented with a gold inlaid border. A gold inlaid pattern is also at the breech. The barrel and receiver have the factory proof. The receiver features a leaf and punch dot engraving with a pair of silver inlaid big game animals on the sides (bear and buffalo on the left, elk and ram on the right). The receiver also features a gold inlaid border with gold inlaid acorns at the corners on the border featured on the left and right sides of the receiver. The underside of the receiver features the serial number and the head of a mountain lion. The engraver's signature (Cas) is in front of the lever. The upper tang has the three line model/trademark information, with "WINCHESTER" inlaid in gold. The leaf engraving with gold border is also featured on the forend cap and buttplate heel. Blue with casehardened hammer and lever. Nicely figured smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Near mint as custom embellished. The rifle retains 99% of the custom blue finish with some scattered mild handling marks. The magazine has finished over minor pitting. The near mint wood has some scattered minor handling marks (more prevalent on the right side of the forearm). Mechanically excellent.
