Fixed sights, with "P.38", "byf/ 43" and the serial number on the left side of the slide, and "eagle/ 135" and "eagle/ swastika" proofs on the right side, which are repeated on the barrel, locking block and frame. Matching serial numbers. Ribbed brown plastic grips. With an unmarked black leather flap holster.

Very good as refinished, with 97% of the current blue, showing pitting below the finish on the slide and scattered handling marks. Grips are good, with scuffing concentrated on the right panel. Holster is good, with scuffs concentrated on the high points. Mechanically excellent.

Fixed sights, with standard slide markings with a mis-matched barrel. Grips are red tinted ribbed bakelite. With a black leather flap holster, marked "jwa" (Moritz Stecher, Freiberg, Sachsen) and "42".

Very good overall, with 90% blue finish showing dings and pitting below the surface, a mixed brown and gray patina on the front strap. Grip is good, with some scratches and rough spots. Holster has been altered, with the belt loops gone and a replacement set carved from the back of the holster. Mechanically needs work.
