This is an excellent example of a late war "ar" code K98 rifle manufactured by Mauser-Werke, A.-G., Werk Borsigwalde, Berlin-Borsigwalde, Eichborndamn equipped with a ZF41/1 sniper scope. The scope is marked with a "+ diamond" over "cxn" (Busch A.-G., emil, Optische Jndustrie, Rathenow) over "ZF41/1". The scope is equipped with sun shields. The top of the receiver ring is marked "eagle/135/ar/44", the left side is marked with a Nazi firing proof and the serial number, and the right side is marked with two eagle proofs. The left rear of the barrel is marked with a Nazi firing proof and around the breech "4 D 705 eagle/135" proof. The left side wall is marked "Mod. 98". Hooded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Correct late war stamped barrel bands secured by a screw, stamped trigger guard and milled floor plate. Phosphate barrel bands and bolt assembly with blue on the remaining parts with all visible numbers matching. The rifle is mounted with a correct laminated stock and hand guard with a cupped buttplate with an eagle proof on the right rear and no provisions for a cleaning rod. Complete with a brown leather cross hatch sling.

Very fine. The rifle retains 85% plus original blue finish with thinning on the barrel and floor plate and some minor pitting on the front receiver ring. The remaining parts retain 95% original, somewhat thinning phosphate finish. The stock is very good plus with several small nicks on the left side at the receiver and overall some minor dings and scratches. The scope is fine with the optics being a little hazy. The sling is good with a few minor cuts and some moderate wear. Some markings are highlighted in white and all remain crisp. The action is very good.
