Description:

Created in 1934, the rank of Untersturmfuhrer, is roughly analogous to Second Lieutenant, and could either be received by appointment, or earned in a process that required submitting an application to Heinrich Himmler himself, or undergoing an officer's school which could take 1 1/3 years to complete. Gray construction, with dark green cuffs and collar, nickel finished buttons and a label on the inside of the collar reading "Rr.W.Gauhl". The collars and cuffs show silver litzen on deep blue Waffenfarbe, the standard for medical personnel, and the shoulder boards bear two pips backed with silver braiding and a gilt Rod of Asclepius. A silver bullion Nazi eagle is present on the right breast. With 2 pair of field gray trousers and a peaked cap, gray felt construction with a dark green band, blue piping, silver bullion trim, black visor and a gray interior with Ludwig Vogele makers mark and another "Dr. W. Gauhl" label on the inside.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with some mild wear and staining. The Gauhl labels are perfectly legible.
