Description:

Manufactured from 1905 to 1945. 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked extra full/improved modified with ejectors. Single bead sight on a solid matte rib. Barrels stamped with the special alloy marking and Savage address. Broad floral engraved casehardened action with "ANSLEY H. FOX" in a banner both sides. Double triggers and auto tang safety. Checkered forearm and straight grip stock with serrated buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches. Complete with a mutton case marked "72RA / 28" on the closure strap. Complete with Roe Clark letter confirming the grade "AE" and length and stating that the gun was shipped in 1937 to an unknown location.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrels retain 90% thinning original blue finish with a patch of minor pitting on the right barrel near the muzzle. The action retains 30% original case colors mainly in protected areas with the balance a smooth silver gray patina. The trigger guard has a smooth mottled gray patina. The wood is fine with some minor dings, dents, and scratches with some wear and bruising of the checkering and some chipping near the tangs. The buttplate has a hairline crack and a few minor chips. The case is good with some handling marks, wear and scuffs.
