This is a very nice example of an engraved deluxe side lock A. Francotte double barrel shotgun. The shotgun features 28" barrels with a solid concave matte rib with a single brass bead sight, 2 3/4" chambers, chokes gauge at modified/improved modified, with ejectors. The top rear of the right barrel is marked "AUG. FRANCOTTE BREVETE A LIEGE - BELGIUM-" and the left side "ATLANTA OUTFITTERS GA. US AGENT". The breech end of the barrels have two gold inlaid bands (one thin, one thicker). The frame is engraved with relief floral scrolls, with gold accented background on the fences and border in front of and under the side locks. Each side of the frame has gold "AUG FRANCOTTE" at the top and "A LIEGE" at the bottom. The side locks are engraved with nicely detailed marsh scenes with three gold inlaid relief ducks on the left side and two on the right side. The break lever is engraved with the same design and has a gold inlaid relief snipe. The bottom of the trigger guard has a forest scene with three relief gold inlaid quail. The same engraving pattern extends to the tangs, front and rear of the trigger guard and forearm hardware. The barrels are blue, niter blue triggers and the remaining surfaces coin finished, double triggers, cocking indicators, tang mounted manual safety and mounted with deluxe extra fancy, checkered English walnut splinter forearm and straight grip stock with tear drop flats and leather recoil pad. Length of pull 13 3/4". Complete in a brown leather hard takedown case with brass corner reinforcements, two leather straps, brass fixtures, two key lock latches, leather handle and red felt lining with leatherette Aguste Francotte label affixed to the inside of the lid. In the case is a three piece cleaning rod, attachments, can of Nevarust, a nickel oiler and two nickel snap caps.

Near new in the case. A couple of compartment walls have separated, otherwise the case and cover are excellent.
