These pistols were manufactured from 1892 through 1907, this one being produced in 1901. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. FA. MFG CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. over PATENTED AUG. 5. 1884 NOV. 6. 88. MAR. 5, 95." and the left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT. D.A. 38". The bottom of the barrel is marked "R A C" and the "R A C" inspection mark is also present on the left rear of the frame and twice on the rear face of the cylinder. The assembly number "61 is marked on the frame, the crane and cylinder release. The butt is marked " U.S. / ARMY / MODEL / 1894 / No / 150 / 061". The top of the hammer and trigger are a niter blue. The grips are smooth walnut.

Rating Definition:

Good. The revolver retains 60% of the original blue finish with a mix of smooth gray and thin blue finish on the barrel, mottled gray patina on the backstrap, high edge wear and thinning on the front strap. The side plate is ill-fitting, and the lanyard hole passes through the "1894" marking. The grips are fair overall with a large chip on the left toe and scattered minor dings and dents. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
