Description:

Excellent example of a very early 1903 Springfield. This model was produced during or right after the 1905 conversions. The top of the receiver has the early senif style markings and the barrel is marked. Blade front and adjustable ladder rear sights with the early style windage and elevation knob. SA- "9-06". It has the correct no-bolt "s" style straight grip stock with a boxed "J.F.C." cartouche, a circled "P" in the grip area. The handguard is also the correct pattern without handguard chips and the rear sight radius cut. It has an early unmarked straight handle bolt with small gas hole. Sling and stacking swivels, and a buttplate with a trapdoor.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 99% of rust blued finish on the receiver, with the balance of the parts professionally restored. The rifle retains 95% of the blue finish with some minor thinning and some patches of gray. The wood is excellent with some minor handling marks with a minor pressure dent on the buttstock (left side) and a missing chip near the toe.
