Description:

The left side of the receiver is marked "U.S. / MODEL 1898. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" and the serial number. It is fitted with the standard blade front sight and a Model 1902 adjustable rear sight. The stock has a clear "JSA / 1902" boxed cartouche on the left side and a clear circled script "P" proofmark in the pistol grip area behind the trigger guard. Bayonet lug, leather sling, and steel buttplate with compartment.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel has a smooth dark patina and the receiver has a smooth dark gray patina, with some minor spotting overall. The wood is very fine with a couple minor dents and gouges along with some minor dings and scratches. The stock cartouche is crisp. Mechanically excellent.
