Manufactured from 1913 to 1920, this model was manufactured for the Spanish military, but were not received by the Spanish government until late 1916. The pistol was replaced by the Astra Model 400 in 1921. The left side of the frame is marked "Pist.a aut.a mod 1913" over the serial number and the top of the slide is marked "CAMPO-GIRO / PAT 34798-54214 / 1904-1913 star in a wreath / ESPERANZA / Y / UNCETA / GUERNICA". The pistol is chambered for the 9mm Largo (9mm Bergmann-Bayard) cartridge, has fixed sights, 8 round magazine, rust blue finish and fitted with checkered two piece buffalo horn grips with a "crown / CAMPO GIRO over the five point star and wreath over the circled intricately intertwined E, Y and U (Esperanza Y Unceta).

Rating Definition:

Very good. The pistol retains half of the thinning rust blue finish and a smooth gray patina on the grip straps. There are some scattered minor dings and some minor pitting. The grips are very good with moderate wear, a splinter on the front, upper left side and overall crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.

Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Although the Spanish Government was apparently satisfied with the Model 1913, The Count of Campo Giro continued to make design improvements. In 1915 a third and final modification was made and the updated pistol was designated the Model 1913-16. The changes included the moving of the magazine release to the lower left side of the frame and changing both design and contour, making the grip straps the same thickness, changing the contour of the grip panels so that each panel was secured by two screws instead of only one. The pistol was serial numbered in its own range starting at 1. The left side frame marking is the same as "A" with the addition of "-16" and the top of the slide marking remained the same. Fitted with buffalo horn checkered grips with the same, but redesigned , markings as "A". Comes with one spare magazine very similar to original but not exact match.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The pistol retains half of the much faded thin rust blue finish with smooth gray patina on the high edges of the frame, grip straps and muzzle end of the barrel. The grips are fair with some chipping and cracking on the upper left panel, a few scattered minor dings and overall moderate wear. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is fine.
