Marked "ALLEN & THURBER WORCESTER" in one of the barrel flutes, with "ALLENS PATENT/ 1845" on the left side of the hammer. Matching numbers on the barrels, shield, trigger guard, hammer, mainspring, grips and frame. The frame and nipple shield are lightly engraved. Smooth bag shaped walnut grips. In a locking hardwood case with powder flask, two chamber mold, key, ramrod and ammunition.

Very fine, showing 70% of the original blue finish, with patches of brown patina, small areas of flaking, and scattered handling marks. The frame has turned a bright gray, with sections of brown patina and original color in the protected areas. Grips are fine, with some minor chips and pressure dents. Case is fine, with some pressure dents and mild wear on the lining. Mechanically excellent.
