Description:

The lock plate is dated "1864" behind the hammer and is marked with the eagle/shield motif and "U.S. / SPRINGFIELD" in front of it. The top of the breechblock is dated 1866 and stamped with an eagle head. Blade and two leaf sights. Complete with correct ramrod with the knurled and slotted head.

Rating Definition:

Good. The metal surfaces have been cleaned and now shows a mottled gray patina. The refinished wood has some scattered minor handling marks with some chipping along the ramrod channel. Hammer screw is a replacement, otherwise action is fine. Replaced ramrod.
