This is an example of a double dated Erfurt Kar 98 rifle, most likely a Post-WWI police issue. The top of the receiver ring is marked "1920 / crown / ERFURT / 1916", the left side is marked with an "Imperial eagle" proof and the serial number, the right side is marked with three crown over script letter proofs. The left side receiver wall is marked "Kar 98." Matching serial numbers (partial or complete) on the receiver, floor plate, bolt assembly, barrel bands, trigger guard assembly, and shrouded front and tangent rear sights. Full one piece pistol grip stock with crown/letter proofs and stamped "28 / 1920 / REV" on the left side of the buttstock.

Very fine as arsenal refurbished. The rifle retains 95% of the blue finish with some minor thinning with some minor pitting. The wood is very fine with exception of a "duffle bag" cut under middle band with numerous minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
