This is an example of a Peruvian contract Mauser Model 1909 rifle. The chamber is marked with the large Peruvian seal over "MAUSER ORIGINAL", the left side is marked with two proof marks and the serial number. The matching serial number is marked on the left rear of the barrel and the left side wall is marked "WAFFENFABRIK-OBERNDORF A/N / MODELO 1909". The bolt assembly is mismatched, otherwise the visible numbers match including the stock. Blade front and "ski-ramp" tangent rear sights, and mounted with a smooth pistol grip stock with matching hand guard, flat iron buttplate and leather sling. The right rear of the stock is marked with a proof mark and the Mauser banner and the serial number on the bottom.

Very fine. The rifle retains 90% of the original blue finish with some thinning and minor scratches on the barrel and front barrel band, and wear on the rear barrel band. The receiver remains bright. The stock is fine with a number of minor scratches and a few scattered minor dents and dings. The sling is good with minor age cracking and remains supple. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
