Description:

This is an excellent example of a Colt Model 1902 Military pistol that was manufactured in 1919. This pistol has the square butt, with lanyard swivel on the left heel, slide lock on the left side of the frame, and eight-round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. Features rear slide serrations, blue barrel with bright muzzle and chamber and blue magazine marked "CAL 38 / COLT" on the bottom. Left side of the slide is roll stamped with the standard two block, two line patent dates (1897 and 1902) and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. Standard two line caliber markings on the right side of the slide, serial number on the left side of the frame, the number "1" and the Colt triangle "VP" proof on the upper left side of the trigger guard bow and 48 on the opposite. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" in a banner at the top and the Rampant Colt in a circle in the center.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 97% plus original blue finish, with some high edge wear and minor scattered pinpoint rust present on the grip straps. The hammer retains 90% original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The grips are also excellent with a couple of minor dings, light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
