Total length of 34" with claw style handle, walnut veneer over an iron smooth bore barrel, which appears to be the equivalent of a .410 gauge. The handle turns to expose the breech for loading, with the underside of the loading area stamped with a pre-1898 French black powder proof. There is a brass ring located directly below the handle that has a slot in it. The ring is rotated so that the slot lines up with a folding trigger located on the underside.

Fair. The lower 7 1/4" of the veneer has been replaced and there are some pieces missing and a crack running the length. The upper section of the veneer has a 5" and a 13" crack and the veneer that covers the action is also cracked. All of the veneer remains firmly attached to the barrel. The muzzle end that is exposed shows some minor oxidation. The handle is solid and shows a few minor cracks. The action is fine.
