This is an excellent example of a scarce factory engraved S-101 Supermatic pistol manufactured from 1954 to 1957. The pistol features floral scroll engraving on the sides of the barrel and frame, sides and top of the barrel extension and slide, the rear of the slide and frame, and on the sides and bottom of the trigger guard. The left side of the barrel extension is marked "SUPERMATIC", the left side of the slide is marked "HI - STANDARD" flanked by lightning bolts, the right side of the frame is marked with the serial number followed by "S-101" and the right side of the barrel extension is marked with the three line address/caliber designation. Ported barrel with ramped blade front sight and grooved underside for weights, (the filler is currently installed). Adjustable rear sight dovetailed to the slide, serrated trigger and grip straps, "HI-STANDARD" marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips with serrated right hand thumb rest. Complete with an original blue and yellow box faintly numbered to another gun, extra 4 1/2 inch barrel and one barrel weight.

Excellent plus with virtually all of the original blue finish remaining and showing only the slightest handling marks on the metal surfaces. The grips are excellent with a couple of chips on the otherwise sharp checkering and a couple minor chips around the left side screw hole. The engraving and markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The extra barrel and weight are both excellent with 99% plus original finish and light handling marks. The box is good with some wear and tape repairs.
