This Third Model, Type II light brass frame variation with a full sight groove along the top strap and a blade front sight. The top of the barrel rib is marked "MERWIN & BRAY NEW-YORK", with the patent dates marking on the cylinder. Frame is silver-plated with the remaining surfaces blue. Fitted with varnished rosewood grips numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 40% of original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The cylinder has a smooth brown patina. The frame retains 80% original silver plating with the exposed brass having an attractive dark aged patina. The grips are very good with exception of a long hairline crack on the right panel and a large chip on the left panel at the bottom, along with some minor dings and scratches. The grips retain most of the varnish. Action needs some adjustment.
