Description:

This is an example of a First Model revolver manufactured circa 1858 to 1867 with less than 1,000 produced. The top barrel flat is marked "BACON MFG CO NORWICH CONN" and the frame features a scroll engraving. The 5-shot cylinder has the five panel roll sporting scene engraving. Matching serial number on frame under left grip, barrel, and loading lever. Fitted with smooth varnished grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 40% original blue finish and the frame and grip straps retain 30% original blue finish, with the overall balance between a smooth gray patina and a smooth brown patina. The cylinder retains most of the scene and has a mixed gray patina. The loading lever and hammer retain traces of original case colors. The grips are very fine with most of the varnish remaining and some minor handling marks.
