Manufactured in 1893. Replacement blade front sight and ski slope style rear sight graduated to 1,000 yards. Standard two line address/patent date marking ahead of the rear sight and "45-70" on top at the breech. The upper tang is unmarked and appears to have had a tang mounted sight at one time. Blue barrel and buttplate, with casehardened receiver and lever, and mounted with a smooth full walnut forearm with metal forend cap, two barrel bands and straight grip stock with a sling swivel and carbine style steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The barrel mostly has a smooth mottled brown patina. The receiver shows 30% original faded case colors with a smooth mottled brown patina. The buttplate has a brown patina with some minor spotting. The wood is very fine with overall scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. Missing ramrod.
