SAMl COLT NEW-YORK U. S AMERICA." on top of the barrel running from muzzle to breech, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the 4-screw frame and "PATENTED SEPT. 10th 1850" in one of the cylinder flutes. The recoil shield and butt are properly cut for a stock, with matching numbers on the barrel, wedge, frame, cylinder, cylinder pin and grip straps. Smooth one piece walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a mixed brown and gray patina overall, showing areas of mild pitting. Strong traces of silver are present in the protected areas of the trigger guard, with a fine aged patina on the exposed brass. The grip is refinished, lightly sand varnished with some pressure dents. Mechanically very good.
