Description:

Made in 1868. Bead front sight, with the top of the barrel marked "ADDRESS COL. SAMl COLT NEW-YORK U.S.AMERICA" marking, the cylinder is numbered "1071" and roll-engraved with the Stagecoach holdup scene, the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/ PATENT" and the left trigger guard shoulder is marked "31 CAL". Except for the cylinder, numbers are matching. Grips are smooth one-piece walnut. With a period production homemade hardwood case with brown velvet lining, Colts Patent eagle powder flask, two chamber "COLT'S / PATENT" brass bullet mold and a partial Remington-UMC cap tin.

Rating Definition:

Fair with a dark mottled patina on the steel overall, showing minor pitting on the barrel and cylinder. The grip straps are fine, with an aged patina on the visible brass and dark original silver in the protected areas. Grips are fair, with a mended chip on the right toe, rounding, varnish loss and dings. Case good, with screws absent from one of the hinges, and wear on the lining. Accessories are for another gun, with dents on the mold and aged color on the flask. Hammer spring weak, otherwise mechanically fine.
