Manufactured in 1853. The top barrel flat is marked with the one line New York City address and "COLTS / PATENT" on left side of frame. The complete matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard, cylinder, loading lever and back strap. Writer was able to remove the wedge to check wedge and arbor pin numbers. Fitted with a smooth one piece stag grip. Complete with a period leather tooled Slim Jim style holster and plain leather belt, (39").
Period refurbished. All parts have been replated in nickel, with 95% remaining showing a number of small dings around the wedge and bottom of the barrel lug, some flaking on the trigger guard and overall some scattered minor dings and scratches. The wedge screw is marred. There is no visible cylinder scene. The grips are a bit oversized and remain very good a couple minor age cracks and overall minor scratches and handling marks. Mechanically fine. The holster and belt are both good with some minor age crack, mostly on the belt.
