Description:

Manufactured in 1862. Four screw frame cut for a shoulder stock is marked "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side. The top of the barrel has the one line New York address and the cylinder has the Texas Navy scene. Inspection marks are stamped on the barrel, cylinder, and grip straps. Matching numbers on the cylinder, frame, barrel, trigger guard, and back strap, with a non-matching wedge (4316). Smooth grip with a cartouche on the left side.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus. The revolver has a smooth dark brown patina with strong traces of original blue finish on top of the back strap and barrel underside and traces of original case colors on the loading lever and frame. The cylinder retains 95% of the navy scene. There is some scattered minor spotting with some minor pitting on the barrel at the muzzle, which has a minor ding. There is a minor chip missing on the left side near the bottom, otherwise the grip is very good with some minor pressure dents, scratches and dings. Mechanically fine.
