Produced in 1896 in the Storekeeper configuration, properly without ejector assembly and fitted with the long knurled cylinder pin. Fixed sights, with the two line Hartford address on top of the barrel and "COLT. D.A. 38" roll stamped on the left. The casehardened frame bears the circled Rampant Colt stamp next to the three line, three date patent markings, with "48" on the loading gate and matching numbers on the grip straps. Checkered bird's head grips, with the Rampant Colt logos at the top.

Very fine, with 90% plus of the original blue finish overall, showing a brown patina on the cylinder with spotting, smoother patches on the barrel and grip straps, mild edge wear and scattered handling marks overall. Bright and vivid colors are visible on the casehardened frame, strongest in the protected areas with 75% remaining. Grips are excellent, with a few pressure dents and flat spots. Mechanically excellent. An exceptionally fine Colt Storekeeper Model 1877 Lightning revolver.
