Made in 1927, this is a Winchester Model 1895 Takedown Rifle in Sporting configuration. Lyman "Winchester Express" front sight and semi-buckhorn adjustable rear, with the two line "NICKEL STEEL BARREL" markings to the left next to the caliber mark, and the "P/W" proof on top of the breech. The receiver has a matte chamber top, with left-offset Winchester proof, "MODEL 95/ -WINCHESTER-/ TRADE MARK REG. U.S.PAT.OFF & FGN." on the upper tang and the two line patent markings on the left side, partially covered by the Lyman peep sight. Smooth straight grip stock, with a Schnabel tip forearm and a smooth crescent steel buttplate.

Excellent, with 90% plus original blue finish, showing some minor flaking and a brown patina on the barrel extension, the right side of the receiver, the side of the receiver sight and the buttplate. The barrel and receiver show minimal handling wear. Freshened stock, with some mild pressure dents.
